These candle holders were inspired by a commission I did for the Vadim Kristopher Hair Salon in Nelson, B.C., called Deception Desk. With a fusion of classic lines and modern materials, one friend of the salon owner said that it had a slightly creepy, "Tim Burton" vibe to it, while remaining whimsical . I took direction from the desk and on a smaller scale I created the Deception Line, packing all the style of the larger piece into an affordable functional sculpture for the home. I chose the finishing colours for the fun they would bring to a room.
I have traced each part of these candle holders from original master patterns and then plasma cut fabricated and welded them all at my shop in Nakusp. Although they all stay true to the original pattern's esthetic, no two will ever be the same.
Made entirely of mild steel and professionally powdercoated, they are fully weather resistant.
